Eastlake 1, Redmond 0 In what
amounted to a great pitching duel with excellent defensive
support, Eastlake prevailed over Redmond under the lights at
Hartman Park. Ian Farmer pitched 5 flawless innings against
Redmond’s Jesse Fergusen giving up only 1 hit and racking up 10
strikeouts. Tim Pickard came in for relief with no outs and 2 men
on base in the 6th and effectively shut down Redmond’s attempts to
get on the scoreboard. George Vigeland hammered a 2-out double to
center field in the 5th inning to score the only run in the game.
Brett Upchurch launched a 2-out double in the first inning, and
made two impressive defensive catches in right field; the first in
inning 1 with a throw to home that snuffed out a potential Redmond
run and the last in the bottom of the 7th inning to end the game. |
