Seattle Prep 4, Eastlake 3

Eastlake Varsity started their season battling both the rough weather and a tough opponent at Inglewood J.H. field as Seattle Prep pulled off a come-from-behind win today. Ian Farmer was the starting pitcher, racking up 7 strikeouts in 3 innings. Ben Campbell tallied the first base hit of the season with a single in the 1st inning. Brett Upchurch stretched an RBI double  into a triple, capitalizing on defensive errors by Seattle Prep. Kyle Walther drove in a run with his hit in the 1st inning. Devin Haskell took over on the mound in the 4th inning and kept Seattle Prep scoreless through 2 innings. Ryan Focht came in on relief in the 6th inning, and Seattle Prep scored 3 runs. George Vigeland's RBI in the bottom of the 6th tied the game up. Seattle Prep scored another run in the 7th and, as darkness began to fall on Inglewood, Kyle Walther's hit to centerfield with 2 outs was caught, ending the game. Eastlake had 6 hits in the game. Vigeland was 2 for 2 with a double and a single. Campbell was 1 for 4; Upchurch was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 1 RBI. Joel Newberry went to base 3 times on balls.

Devin Haskell, Ian Farmer and Ryan Focht were pitchers in Eastlake's first game of the season against Seattle Prep.
