              April 23, 2002

Woodinville 4, Eastlake 2 In a game played out on a perfect afternoon at
Eastlake field, the Wolves stumbled in their quest to trip up
first place Woodinville. Excellent pitching by Ian Farmer could
not overcome 3 unearned runs by Woodinville. Ian gave up 5 hits
but took 5 strikeouts as he went the distance. Ryan Focht was 2
for 4 with 1 RBI and Brett Upchurch scored an RBI on a sacrifice
fly. George Vigeland laid down 2 sacrifice bunts to move runners
to scoring position. Pinch hitters Mike Wenzel and Bryan Yates
launched a double and single respectively late in the game to
raise hopes for a come-from-behind victory.
Eastlake heads downtown tomorrow to take on the Roosevelt
              Roughriders.
